I have been involved in the Insurance Industry since 1960, initially in the fire underwriting department of the Norwich Union Insurance Company and thereafter in the claims area. I have been in the Loss Adjusting Domain since 1965, first with John Murray & Co and then Graham Miller & Co.
I then had 20 years service as Technical Claims Director of one of South Africa's largest Brokers in Johannesburg, JH Minet which subsequently became Glenrand MIB.
I have therefore, been exposed to insurance claims from all aspects ie. Company, Broker and Loss Adjuster. In 2001 I retired from Glenrand MIB and returned to Cape Town where I consulted for Crawford & Co., for 18 months.
In 2003 I moved to McGregor, that magical village in the Breede River Valley, just 20 kms from Robertson and 70 kms from Worcester.
In March 2003 I opened an office in McGregor and consulted for GAB Robins until my decision to trade under my own name as from April 2007.
I am perfectly situated to deal with matters in the Boland / Karoo / Overberg / Swartland / West Coast / Koue Bokkeveld areas.
Just being this side of the Huguenot Tunnel immediately saves Insurers hours of travelling and much mileage.
I was a member of The Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa but resigned as there is no local branch of the Institute in the Boland. I do, however, carry full PI cover as recommended by the ILA.
